VA Health Connect, Tele Emergency Care and VA Health Chat

Veterans receiving health care at VA medical centers throughout VISN 4 can now obtain care 24/7/365 with the ease of a video chat or phone call with a licensed health care provider. If you have an urgent medical or mental health question, our nurse clinical contact center can help. Call the main phone number of your VISN 4 VA medical center and press 3.

VA Health Connect

Tele Emergency Care

VISN 4 Tele Emergency Care (formerly Tele Urgent Care) uses phone appointments or VA Video Connect (VVC) to conduct appointments privately and securely in a virtual medical room from anywhere using the camera on your smart phone, computer, or tablet. Tele Emergency Care can help treat many common conditions including:

A registered nurse in the VISN 4 RN Clinical Contact Center will evaluate your symptoms, provide a care recommendation and, if needed, schedule a virtual or face-to-face same day appointment. Our Tele Emergency Care providers are available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET, 365 days per year, and there are NO copayments! Tele-EC is comprised of emergency medicine providers available on-demand for consultation on a variety of emergency situations. Our Tele EC providers can help to reduce unnecessary trips to the emergency department or recommend the right level of care and urgency to seek care.

NOTE: Tele Emergency Care supports but does not replace in-person care. If you believe that your condition is life threatening, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Connect with us through VA Health Chat

If you have a non-urgent health care question, you can use VA Health Chat to quickly connect with a VISN 4 Clinical Contact Center nurse. Our nursing staff is available to chat from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET Monday through Friday except holidays.

You can also schedule your next VA appointment quickly and easily using the VA Health Chat app! Our schedulers in the VISN 4 Clinical Contact Center are available to help you from 3 p.m. to midnight.

We are pleased to share the 2023 annual report for VA Healthcare-VISN 4. Over the past year our staff continued to serve Veterans with military environmental exposures, and 229,035 Veterans in VISN 4 have received a toxic exposure screening. We continued toward our goal of hiring staff faster and more competitively, and we expanded virtual care by completing more than 475,000 telehealth visits. We also enhanced our commitment to suicide prevention, embraced holistic models of care through our whole health initiative, and continued our journey to become a high reliability organization. E-Donate

E-Donate is an online donation option that allows community members the opportunity to give back to Veterans. E-Donate is a simple, safe way to pledge your support to Veterans at any VISN 4 VA medical center. The E-Donate option allows donors to select from a number of accounts at their local medical center. Additionally, all VA administrative costs are appropriated, so donors can be sure that 100 percent of their donations goes to the accounts they select and the Veteran patients they choose to support. Donations can be made by credit or debit card. The actual donation is made through a secure site at the U.S. Department of Treasury’s www.pay.gov. A minimum of $5 is required for online donation. Online donations can also be made on the VA’s Voluntary Services website.

Enroll for VA health care

With VA health care, you’re covered for regular checkups with your primary care provider and appointments with specialists (like cardiologists, gynecologists, and mental health providers). You can access Veterans health care services like home health and geriatric (elder) care, and you can get medical equipment, prosthetics, and prescriptions. Find out how to apply for and manage the health care benefits you’ve earned.

VA Welcome Kit

Whether you’re just getting out of the service or you’ve been a civilian for years now, the VA Welcome Kit can help guide you to the benefits and services you’ve earned. Keep your welcome kit handy so you can turn to it throughout your life, and feel free to share this guide with friends or family members who need help with their benefits too.

The VA Resource Navigator is a resource tool to assist Veterans in finding and using VA resources. The VA Resource Navigator will guide Veterans to popular and frequently sought-after VA tools and resources. All of the information in the Veterans Health Library is created to follow the VA’s high standards of patient care.
